Gersh Experience is a residential program for young adults on the autism spectrum designed to support our clients in achieving maximal independence. We take a comprehensive approach to teach our clients independent living skills, provide vocational training and work experience, support skill development and provide opportunities to improve socialization, and teach coping strategies to take on the many challenges of living independently.

Four Pillars of Support:

Independence

Instilling independent living skills to ensure students leave the program ready to succeed in adult life on their own.

Social Skills

Group interactions, dinner parties, outings, and lectures dedicated to teaching students how to build and maintain relationships.

Education

Whether college or career bound, students are tutored and prepared to take on post-secondary and vocational environments.

Mental Health

Providing the tools necessary to understand and manage one’s own mental health and to advocate and seek help from others.

The Answer to “What’s Next”

Many parents of young adults on the autism spectrum feel lost after their child turns 18 and services seem to dry up. Gersh Experience is the answer to the question of “what’s next” for young adults on the autism spectrum. With a focus on independent living, post-secondary education and/or job training, socialization, and mental health, Gersh Experience gives clients the tools to live fulfilling and independent lives as adults in our community.
